Scoping a two-week MVP without cutting the wrong corners

A two-week MVP isn’t about building less — it’s about building the right less. The failure mode is almost always scope creep disguised as “just one more thing.”

Questions we always ask

  • What does a user need to do on day one for this to be useful?
  • What’s the smallest data model that supports that workflow?
  • What can we fake, stub, or defer without breaking the core loop?

Questions we deliberately skip

  • “What will version two look like?” — you’ll learn more in two weeks than any planning session
  • “Should we support every edge case?” — not yet
  • “Can we make it perfect?” — no, and that’s the point

The goal is a working system that generates real feedback, not a polished demo that answers hypothetical questions.
